Terms and ConditionsEffective from 1 January 2012 1. AGE POLICY FOR BEGINNER COURSESYamaha Music Education Courses are specifically designed for specific age groups. The recommended age for beginner courses is:
2. RE-ENROLMENTRe-enrolment from Semester 1 to Semester 2 is automatic each year. For re-enrolment for the following academic year, with a Semester 1 commencing in January, students must re-enrol to confirm their place. Re-enrolment is NOT automatic. Failure to re-enrol will result in the cancellation of your place in the class. Music Wonderland Course re-enrolment procedure is term by term. You may choose to re-enrol after discussion with your teacher in class towards the end of a current term. 3. CLASSESA parent is required to attend lessons with their child for Music Wonderland and Junior Music Course. Yamaha recommends a parent to attend lessons with their child for the Young Musicians’ Course and encourages parental guidance for all other group courses. Siblings are not permitted in the classroom as they may prove to be a distraction to the other students. 4. TUITION FEESPayment in full is required at the beginning of the semester; however you can also choose the following payment option:
Family Discount: A discount of 10% off the total tuition is given for families with 2 or more enrolled students. Note: Discount is only applicable to brothers and sisters. Holiday Programs, Short Courses, Young Composers’ Program & Workshops. Tuition fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable if you change your mind. 5. MISSED LESSONS / PRE-ARRANGED ABSENCESMissed Group Lessons:Teacher will make homework assignments available via e-mail or post to parents and students for missed group lessons. No credits will be given to individual missed lessons. Cancelled Group Lessons:Where a group lesson has been cancelled, we will either re-schedule your class or credit your account accordingly. Please refer to the table below.
Please note: These amounts are a per lesson adjustment but do not reflect the actual amount per lesson. Pre-arranged Absences (4 – 8 weeks)You must notify your Regional Coordinator (via phone or email) for absences between 4 and 8 weeks. Notifying your teacher is not acceptable. Your account will be adjusted in accordance with the account adjustment table. Your teacher will discuss with you the best method to complete homework and stay in touch with what the class is doing during your absence. Pre-arranged Absences (Greater than 8 weeks)Absences of more than 8 weeks will be deemed a withdrawal (see withdrawal policy). Prior to returning to class an assessment will need to be made to ascertain which class will be suitable. In order to communicate information efficiently please be advised that Yamaha will use SMS and email in circumstances such as teacher illness resulting in a class cancellation. This will help to inform parents quickly of changes to their schedule causing as little disruption as possible. 6. WITHDRAWAL / DISCONTINUATION POLICYYour Regional Coordinator must be contacted either by phone or email. Notifying your teacher is not acceptable. Refer to the table below for the tuition fees that are payable, tuition fees paid in advance will be refunded.
