Violin Lessons
Yamaha's proven group teaching method provides a fun and inspirational environment for your child to learn the violin.
Group violin uses Yamaha's innovative teaching methods to develop the inner ear and provide listening, playing, reading and writing activities in a logical sequence, progressively deepening an understanding of musical concepts and the language of music.
In the Yamaha Violin Course, the emphasis is on musical sound and the development of musical sensitivity. Students are introduced to the beauty of sound, intonation but also music notation. In class and at home they will have the opportunity to hear live model performances and play along with accompaniments to help support their musical development.

Course Outline
Subjects
- Technique Exercises capture children's interest in playing the violin, help them with techniques of bowing and finger distribution and introduce new elements which will aid them to achieve the Violin Repertoire.
- Violin Repertoire enables children to experience the joy of musical expression through playing solo pieces on the violin.
- Ensemble Repertoire lets the student explore the joy of playing in ensemble playing together with their teacher and friends.
- Rhythm Training develops coordination skills and an inner sense of rhythm and tempo.
- Music Theory confirms practical musical experiences through reading and writing, leading to a deeper understanding of the elements of music.
